Compliance Score
All fire extinguishers are in their designated locations, fully visible, and accessible. Not blocked by equipment, stock, or furniture. Wall-mounted and properly hung or on floor stand.
1910.157(c)(1) / NFPA 10 §6.1.3
Monthly inspection tag is initialled with current month/year on each extinguisher. Pressure gauge reads in the green "charged" zone. Safety pin is intact with tamper seal.
NFPA 10 §7.3.2
Annual inspection tag (service record) shows professional inspection within past 12 months. Units with 6-year maintenance (dry chemical) are within schedule. No units past hydro-test date.
NFPA 10 §7.4 / §7.5
Correct extinguisher type provided for hazard class in each area: Class A (ordinary combustibles), Class B (flammable liquids), Class C (electrical), Class D (metals), Class K (kitchen).

Sprinkler heads are in good condition — no corrosion, paint, physical damage, or foreign material. Minimum 18-inch clearance below each sprinkler head maintained. No missing or obstructed heads.
NFPA 25 §5.2.1
Control valves are in the open position, sealed or locked open, and show no signs of tampering or leakage. System is not impaired without a fire watch in place.
NFPA 25 §13.1.1
All exit doors open freely from inside without special knowledge or keys. No dead-bolts or padlocks on required exit doors. Doors not blocked or propped open.

Exit signs are illuminated (internally lit or externally lit) and legible from the required viewing distance. No exit signs with burned-out bulbs or dim displays.

Emergency lighting operates when tested (press test button). Provides adequate illumination for safe exit. Battery backup units charged and functioning. Self-test units current on test log.
NFPA 101 §7.9.3
Exit routes are clearly marked with direction arrows where the path is not immediately obvious. Minimum 28-inch width maintained throughout exit route. No storage in exit corridors.

Fire alarm control panel shows normal status — no supervisory signals, trouble signals, or disabled zones. Panel log reviewed for recent events.
NFPA 72 §10.6.1
Manual pull stations are unobstructed, accessible, and in working condition. No pull stations damaged, activated, or with missing cover. All pull stations visible from the required location.

Smoke detectors and heat detectors appear undamaged, unobstructed, and free from dust/paint accumulation. No missing detector heads. Last annual test date recorded and within schedule.
NFPA 72 §14.4.2
No excessive accumulation of combustible waste, rubbish, or debris. Waste containers emptied regularly. Oily rags stored in self-closing metal containers and removed from building daily.

Fire prevention plan and Emergency Action Plan (EAP) are current, posted, and employees have been trained on evacuation procedures, assembly points, and roles in an emergency.

Emergency evacuation drill conducted within required frequency. Assembly areas are marked. Head count procedure is defined. Last drill date and outcomes are recorded.
