1 · Housekeeping & General Order
1910.22Work areas are clean, orderly, and free from unnecessary materials. Aisles and passageways are clear of obstructions.

Waste and scrap materials are regularly removed and placed in designated containers. No accumulation of combustible waste.

Adequate lighting is provided in all work areas, aisles, stairways, and exits. Burnt-out fixtures replaced promptly.

2 · Walking & Working Surfaces
1910.21–30Floors are clean, dry, and free of slip/trip hazards. Wet floors are marked with warning signs. Anti-slip surfaces in place where needed.

Stairways have adequate handrails on all open sides. Risers and treads are uniform and in good condition. Stairways are clear.

Floor openings, pits, and holes are guarded with covers, guardrails, or toe boards. Covers are secured and load-rated.

3 · Electrical Safety
1910.301–399All electrical panels have covers in place, are clearly labeled, and have 36-inch clearance maintained in front.

Extension cords are for temporary use only, not run through walls/ceilings/doors, and are in good condition (no damaged insulation, proper grounding).

GFCI protection provided in wet/damp locations. All outlets are in working condition and face plates are in place.

4 · Fire Safety & Emergency Egress
1910.36–39 / 1910.155–165Exit routes are clearly marked with illuminated exit signs. All exits are unobstructed and exit doors open in the direction of egress travel.

Fire extinguishers are present, fully charged, inspected monthly (tag initialed), and accessible within 75 ft travel distance for Class A hazards.

5 · Personal Protective Equipment

1910.1200Safety Data Sheets (SDS) are available for all hazardous chemicals used on site. SDS binder/system is accessible to all workers during their shift.

Flammable liquids stored in approved safety cans. Flammable storage cabinets are labeled, self-closing, and not overfilled. Bonding/grounding in place.

7 · Machine Guarding
1910.211–219All point-of-operation guards are in place on machinery and power tools. No guards have been removed or bypassed. Guards are secure and do not create additional hazards.

Rotating parts (shafts, pulleys, belts, gears) are guarded. Nip points and shear points are protected. No exposed rotating parts accessible during operation.

8 · Ergonomics & Material Handling
1910.176 / 1910.178Storage areas are organized. Materials are stacked safely, not exceeding racking load limits, and are stable. Maximum stacking heights posted where applicable.

Powered industrial trucks (forklifts) are inspected daily. Operators are certified. Speed limits and pedestrian zones are marked and observed.

Manual handling aids (trolleys, hoists, lift assists) are available and in use for heavy or repetitive lift tasks. Workers are trained in safe manual handling techniques.
